For over 40 years this Colombian human rights lawyer has been helping conflict-affected communities to peacefully reconcile differences and build a better future. Since 1998, Ricardo Esquivia Ballestas has represented all non-Catholic religious groups on the National Council of Peace, which advises the President of Colombia. He has participated in national and regional dialogues with both legal and illegal armed groups, including the National Armed Forces of Colombia and members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
